I disagree. If you are shooting someone at competition range, you probably don’t have justification to shoot anyway.I'm a Fudd at heart, and all my serious guns have dots. If you do the training, they are absolutely faster and more accurate. Nobody wins open division with irons and life or death is an open division race.
Nothing does. But they are a force multiplier. Proven over and over again. Just like a scope on your hunting rifles. Or larger mags. Larger rounds. Better defined irons. Etc etc etcThey do not make up for drill and practice. Period
