Smaller home for retirement?

If you can't P or target practice off the porch I'm not living there. Healthy people have no business going to doctors for a wellness check, besides to in rich the health care providers. The health care system is broken and anymore the doctors are worse than lawyer's. They both depend on you to pay their bills and you don't really need them till you need them.

Like them paper panties for old farts (like me) ........ depends HAHA.

I went from 2500 sq ft to 240 sq ft. For me, its good. I am either on the porch or outside most of the day. I cook and wash in my barn. I do have a conex box with a dehumidifier in it. What for I don't know. If I have not used stuff in it for a year, then why do I need it? Just pass it on or dump it.

Depends on what you need for a standard of living. Me I have an 89 Ford F150, three motorcycles (priorities) which I will keep until I can't stay up on 2 wheels, my tools, a grumpy old lady bad diabetic (with her own 240 sf), 5 dogs, lots of yard birds, 20 something goats, a 1/2 acre pond, and 4 pigs. I like it until I remember that I have 4 grands 5 hours away. If I did it again, it would be closer to the grands.

If I want to, I can actually work from home.

Well I will pray for you! God is in control, just ask Him.

there is, farm accidents happen all the time.

one thing I read years ago (that actually makes sense now) is that if you live in the boonies it doesn't hurt to have a paved pad cleared/big enough to put a helicopter down on.
I do spot lifeflight going over with a good deal of frequency. not saying traumatic injuries don’t occur here, just nowhere near the amount of wrecks, shootings, industrial and construction accidents, knife wounds, …that occur in a 15 mile radius around Grady.

Currently looking in North GA, TN or NC for new place. My home is a 1975sqft single story brick ranch. We are both 58 and not looking to climb hills or steep stairs. Need a place with a work shed, up to 10 acres next to creek or river for fishing.

Sounds like a good plan Actually, the place I have now is pretty good except it's in a subdivision. Also, would like a bit of land so I could make a small range.
