The garrison is awesome and looks like a good combo. If I was in the market for a great no frills 45 I would grab it, but I’m stocked there.

The thing with getting the front checked is that you need to get the frame refinished. If you want a match it would probably make sense to do the upper too. That’s like $300 so you’re adding $500 by the time you’re done shipping and stuff to a $700 gun.

Checkering alternative. Have it on my 10mm 1911 and works great. They have blue and stainless.

I really love the Garrison. I wish they would have charged $75-$100 more and included front strap checkering.

By the time you pay someone to do that and get it reblued, you aren’t far off from a used Les Baer. Or TRP

Yeah, I won’t be actually shooting this gun so I see no need to pay to have it checkered, I just wish they had done it from the start.


Other than that though, I believe it is perfect.
