Wow! Spybot wouldn't get-r-done? It's always wortked for me.

Lately, my ODT is slowed down on my desktop and laptop. Well, when I use the down key or click in the scroll bar it steps down in increments. I thought I had mal-ware but all my scans are clean now so I have no idea what's wrong.

Try running Ccleaner to clean up your cache, temp. internet files, etc. You can also use it to adjust what you have running in the background during startup (which may be affecting your computer's performance).

Alot of options here, I used AVG Free download. it worked on my Sony Vio.

and when the MAC OS has a large enough market share to make it worth their time, the Virus makers will be knocking on your door too. I've actually seen an infected MAC, cleaning it was not pretty since there was no antivirus removal tool either...

As mentioned, you will have to boot up in safe-mode. If you don't already know how to do this, restart you computer and start pressing F8. It will give you the options. You can boot in safe mode with networking and still get online to download new spyware removal programs.

You can also use HijackThis. It is a little more for advance users. There are many forums online that you can post your log/scan results on and receive help. There are also free virus protection programs on the web. You should be using one if you aren't already. Don't run more than one of these. They can cause problems with each other if you do.

I've found that some programs pick certain problems up, and some don't. Won't hurt to try as many as possible. It can be time consuming sometimes, but it's worth getting rid of the frustration. Good luck.

believe I am so screwed! It will let me download the removal programs but they won't run. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Can you acces System Restore? If possible, restore to an earlier time and then run virus scan/ mal-ware removal. Might help.

Sometimes it's better to just shell out a few bucks and be done with it though. Since running Webroot or Kaspersky, I've had minimal issues.

Very few problems over the years with Webroot, zero problems with Kaspersky.
