I am not completely sure what this means, but my daughter plays soccer and was "nominated" for ODP. She played Super-Y soccer this summer. Apparently based on that, she has been nominated for the ODP program. Her coach did not know anything else. I am under the impression that being nominated allows her to attend the ODP camp.... but I do not know enough about it. If you have facts about the ODP program, please comment.

Olympic Development Program.

Consider it an honor and a recognition of her skills.

My cousin who plays soccer for Clemson, Brittany Beaumont, was part of the ODP program in her youth. In a nutshell.....the ODP program is in most (if not all states). The Olympic National Team sends scouts to look for talent in each state at a young age to try and help players develop their skills so that maybe in the future, they can play for the National Team. Even if your daughter isn't selected for nationals in the future, her skills will just about quadruple what they are now. If soccer is a passion of her, pursue this opportunity. Not everyone has this chance.

Thanks... I am aware of the honor part of this.... I am not familiar with what it meant to be nominated as compared to trying out. I have a vague rumor knowledge of what is going on, I was looking for a little more solid details... Thanks for the feedback Mtber1172....
