And then, what is marketed as Carbona Blue, Carbona Black, or sometimes Carbonia . . . .

If I missed any other popular finishes....By all means, add them....
I have 2 1890ish shotguns from my grandfather, they have a brown finish that I do think is rusted through the blueing. They are both very slick with no pitting visible. Is that something different or just age?

Not sure....I think they were rust blued back in the day, but with different chemicals...stuff our illustrious EPA says we can't use now. But I will look into it a little deeper...
