This year's gun bill...

Once you allow the government to disenfranchise one group, they will go after another, and then another, and then another...........................until no one is left.

That's all a dope smokin felon should be allowed to have...I'm just sayin.

As much as we all complain about restrictions, every single one of us has "bent over and grabbed our ankles" and submitted to obtain our carry license.

All this talk about the 2nd amendment being absolute and yet we all conform to the law and regulations. Where's the conviction in your beliefs? Why not stand up to the man and carry without a license?

I dont have a license. Speak for yourself.

The words if, and, or but do not follow "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” There is a period though.

Rights that can be regulated, can be regulated away. They must be inalienable or they cease to be rights and become mere privileges bestowed by the government, or taken away at any whim.

The Second Amendment IS the law. Nothing more needed.

And someone has comprehended what a "right" truly is, unwanted of government intrusion, intervention, regulation and for an escalating fee (tax) that we have no say about.....

And some of us are actively trying to reclaim stolen rights but with "Pro-Second Amendment" supporters that don't comprehend just what a right honestly is and how to protect it, it's a damn difficult challenge. Folks who are of your opinion are exactly why we have lost our rights.

The second amendment was absolute at the federal level until 1934. This was the beginning of the end. Now we are in a fight just to retain handguns, semi-auto's and magazines of more than 10 rounds or what ever arbitrary number a bunch of politicians come up with that's "safe".

Believe it or not, not long ago you could strap on your handgun, sling your long gun and walk legally open carrying in Georgia if you were not prohibiting from possession of a firearm. No training, no fee, no finger printing, it was once a "right". However, that changed and in the spirit of compromise. Today if a honest citizen desires to exercise the right to "bear" arms they must first pay a fee and request permission then wait for approval.

One step forward and two steps back.... Who was successful in this concession?

because someone smokes(d) marijuana and could have one of many nonviolent offenses that lead to a criminal record they should lose the right to protect themselves? that's rational and i cant see why anyone would find that insane

I agree with almost all of what you said with the exception of these two
1. Mandatory training; i would support mandatory safety training way to many folks are not up to speed on this.
2. Bar carry; nope guns have no place around the consumption of alcohol.
I hate this, I really hate this! I agree with you. Its not a personal thing against FrogMan I just hate that having to agree with someone that training is not the worst idea ever and would not be a bad requirement to carry concealed. Now the bar thing who really gives a rip. As far as I am concerned if you can't handle your booze and you act an ass you loose your rights. Just like DUI or anything else. You know how people skirt the law now? Look all over the news at shootings at nightclubs almost everytime they go out to the car and then the shooting begins and people who don't deserve it get shoot outside instead of in. Its probably better left as it is as laws are too-a-plenty now but who knows......
