This year's gun bill...

We need to make Deal take a stand. As long as the legislature "runs out of time", he can skate on gun rights.

I think he's out on the balcony licking his finger to see which way the wind is blowing.

If this bill passes, the following would become law in GA:
-Remove fingerprinting for renewal of GWLs

-Remove the total restrictions on GWL holders legally carrying a firearm in churches and bars, leaving this decision to private property owners.

-Allow GWL holders to carry in non secure government buildings

-Prohibit the state from creating and maintaining a database of GWL holders.

-Prohibit a ban on firearms in public housing, ensuring that the right to self-defense should not be infringed based on where one calls home.

-Codify the ability to legally carry, with a GWL, in sterile areas of airports.

-Lower the age to obtain a concealed GWL 21 to 18 for active duty military, with specific training.

-Allows for the use of firearm sound suppressors while hunting.

-Create an absolute defense for the legal use of deadly force in the face of a violent attack regardless of where you are.

-Remove the portion that allows the governor to restrict law-abiding gun owners from carrying their firearms during a declared emergency by executive order through Emergency Powers protection.

-Include a provision that would have the state report those persons who have been involuntarily hospitalized or have been adjudicated mentally deficient to the NICS system while also providing an ability for relief through an application process to the court system for the purpose of restoration of rights.

-Strengthen current firearms preemption statutes through further clarification of the regulatory authority of local governments, excluding firearm discharge ordinances.
-Repeal unnecessary state-required license for a firearms dealer, instead requiring only a Federal Firearms License (FFL).


We feel we have come to far to not the above provisions this bill will enact. Please contact your state Representative TODAY and urge him/her to agree to HB 60 as well as your family, friends and other fellow gun owners in Georgia and urge them to do the same.

Even with the amendments, this is a better bill than we've seen in a very long time. Everyone really needs to call and support this or it will be gone tomorrow.

Today is the last day of the GA legislature.

If you don’t call or email your House rep today to force them to vote on HB-60, this year’s firearms bill will die. This is a very, very good bill for every firearms owner in GA and it needs to be voted on and passed. Take a look at what this bill does in the GCO email below.

HB-60 is being opposed by ex-Mayor Bloomberg and the rest of the gun control lobby with every threat, bribe and promise they can muster. Other gun control groups are running national ads calling this the ‘Guns Everywhere’ bill to try and drum up media support. Still others are using outright lies to represent this bill as massively expanding ‘Stand Your Ground’ (or as they call them, ‘shoot first’) laws.

If we firearms owners don’t call or write, this bill WILL die.
