The first of a list of things I want to do to my favorite gun! Next is hammer, sear, beavertail, mag release. Thoughts?

Already looks good. I wouldn't change a thing.

But certainly understand the desire to change it up. I don't like my firearms looking like everyone else's, either.

You going to do the work yourself?

Maybe a cool set of RAASCO grips to set 'er off? Four screws and you're done...

Ever think of polishing the stainless? I love the EMP it just looks awesome. I have a Mil Spec that I had tricked out all matte black with Stainless controls, mag well etc. She is sexy. I like the direction you are going, good luck.

That's the problem with buying a beautiful, factory-tricked out gun. The desire to "improve it" never goes away. :)

I am doing the work myself. The safety needed a small amount of filing. I really want the Ed brown hammer. It is stainless with a nice beveled edge. Polishing it is an option but I think I like the sati finish.

It is pretty much a custom off the rack and has most of what a person would want in a compact carry 1911. If you want to throw money at it a nice 25 LPI front strap checkering would really be nice on that gun.

The trigger can be tuned for about $75-100 by a good smith, if it's even needed.

For carry you may want to reconsider an oversized magazine release. It's very easy to bump and turn your gun into a single shot.
