Training Before Obtaining Carry Permit?

I'm 100% IN for people seeking out and getting training, especially when it comes to firearms.

I'm not a fan of the government controlling my life and telling me what I can and cannot do.

And where in the USA has that ever happened?
Is that how New York and Massachusetts and New Jersey go about restricting gun carry rights?
California? Minnesota? Illinois? Show me a liberal, gun-hating state where they put unreasonable burdens (like you describe above) on the training element of getting a carry license.

Chicago vs. McDonald (2012-2013) attempted to but the court nearly held Chicago in contempt as they attempted to cut and paste NYC current gun law into Illinois law in order to create burdensome "training requirements" in a city that effectively banned gun ranges.

I've thought about it and I agree with required firearms training...In junior high and high school! Requirements for permits well, training, permits, and those that support them-stupid, stupid, stupid.

I want everyone to be trained, especially those that choose to carry, but I would never condone requiring it before someone could arm themselves. That is not Freedom nor Liberty.
