Training Before Obtaining Carry Permit?

I would love to hear everyone thoughts on this proposed idea? I am as pro-gun as anyone here but if someone is carrying I want them to know how to handle and properly use a weapon. Just my two cents. I feel that people who already have a permit should be grandfathered in and LE/military should be exempt. Please discuss I would love to know how people feel about this. Im not necessarily in favor of this, I just want to know everyone's thoughts and opinions here. Also think about this...would you be willing to complete this class if it meant reciprocity in all 50 states?

I don't think it's a terrible idea. Better yet, make it a compulsory part of public education say, high school, nationwide. A lot fewer people would be afraid of guns if they'd leaned how to safely handle them.

i might be interested if it allowed to carry with ZERO restrictions: court, crowds, gov't buildings, wherever i feel i could be endangered. That's not going to happen so I am not interested

If this goes into effect then sc and other states that require safety class should recognize our permits. My wife has permit but I put her thru pretty extensive safety and shooting class. Several days!
