Glad you got your deer. Also some lessons for all of us in patience (MAKE not take the best shot with gun, long, compond or cross bow) and in persistence in looking and looking and then searching some more. Hunters owe it to the animal. We took around 12 this year at the club. The only 2 that were DRT were 2 with crossbows and 1 with 7MM. One ran 100 yards with a 350Mag through both lungs. Even with well placed shots they are amazingly tough. Well done sir and thanks for sharing your experience.

I'm hoping I know exactly where he is at. I just couldn't see him due to brush. Even if he isn't there the terrain is pretty distinct and there are only a few avenues that are down hill.
