i killed 6 this year during bow season from 2-20 yards - we have hundreds of them on our property. 5 with a 22/45 and one with a de-cocking arrow from a crossbow. yes they do put a severe dent in the fire ant population, yes they are dumb and blind, yes you can walk up to them and kick them like a football - i will try the 3 iron next week and get back to you. this may be the closest we ever get to zombie hunting.

A .22 should do it at relatively close range but don't be surprised if they run off after being hit. I bought a .17 WSM to try on the next one.
I have to admit though, the Ram 1500 is probably the best bet though. LOL.
I've shot them with 22lr, 17hmr, 12ga, 308, 10mm, 45acp and 223. Even caught one with a good swing of a machete, almost put him in two pieces. The funniest thing though was I caught one and spray painted him with florescent safety green paint and turned him loose. He looked like a high speed Easter egg
