What did you do to better your prep today?

Big Lots has Kodak and Sunbeam AA and AAA batteries for $3 for a 16 pack. Best by date is 2015. I don't KNOW they are as good as Rayovac, Energizer or Duracell but for the price I HAVE to try them.

Now up to 6 full months of food stocks in cans and freeze dried.

Got my first bottle of Fish-Mox(amoxicillin) and 3-4 ounces of potassium permanganate.

Wal Mart in Albany has(or had as of Wednesday) 4 packs of green beans, corn or peas for $2.00. 50 cents a can is a great price for stocking up these days.

I'm interested but how far can you realistically expect to travel when it hits the fan. I think the group has to be VERY local to work. There is a great ODTer who invited me to peek in on his group but I'm just not sure if it would be feasible to get to him in an emergency. Then too, going in any direction that takes me closer to Atlanta seems counter-productive. Especially considering my location and water/forest resources local to me.

I wouldn't go outside of my own neighborhood if I didn't have to. Most people can make it 20 miles before having a mental breakdown and giving up. Mindset > equipment.

Did a dry run on putting up the tent (10 minutes for the 4 man tent), rigging the tarp (only takes 10 now with pre tied guy lines, all adjustable), sharpened up the tomahawk and blades etc. Keep picking up some handy things on ebay lately, potasium iodide, always more paracord incoming and finally got a shemaugh so i can fit right in if invaded (joke lol but bigger than a bandana and has many many uses).
