What is the dumbest thing you've seen/heard in a gun shop?

My story involves a gun manufacturer instead of a lgs. I used to own a 22 rifle that was made by Mossberg. About 15 years ago I called the company to find out some background info on the gun. After giving the customer no-service rep the gun model, he yelled at me and said that that model gun did not exist. I calmly told him that I was looking at the model number engraved into the barrel. He called me a liar and hung up. He must have been having a really bad day. LOL!

Was in bullseye and a guy dry fired 4 times and nobody said a thing to him.. I immediately left.

was in academy sports and overheard another custom asking about a handgun, said she just got her carry permit and wanted to get a handgun but had never shot a firearm in her life, when the person behind the counter recommended the m&p shield 40 she said no that her boyfriend told her the full frame handguns "work better" the associate told her she needed to go shoot and find out what she liked and carried on...

My personal favorite is when I was in Outpost armory in TN. Stopped in on a road trip to help my wife figure out what she wanted to use for her CCW. While in there, She was asking to see this and that. DA and SA came up. being polite to the guy who is working there, I let him answer the question. He proceeds to tell her that Double Action is when you have to pull the hammer back and then pull the trigger. Single action is when all you have to do is pull the trigger and the gun will do the rest..." the easy way to remember is this: double action requires you to do two things" ... needless to say this was cleared up well before we got back in the car. lol

Was in Kentucky this weekend and visited Cabelas. That place is amazing. They had such an amazing selection I asked a guy at the gun counter if they carried any of the 9mm pistols that could be built into an MP5k clone, such as the Coharie Arms or MKE. Before he could say anything another employee jumped in and said to build one I would have to use a true HK and then buy a kit to convert it and that's gonna be over 30 grand. I was like yea I'm trying to build a clone. Not the real thing. Should cost 2-3 grand. And he just goes on and on about HK and how they're over 30 grand and everyone that owns them aren't selling because the price just keeps going up. I don't think he understood what a clone was. Every time I mentioned one of the common brands that people build clones out of he just interrupted me and started talking about HK.

overheard the guy working behind the counter at the local hunting supply store tell a customer that it is "illegal" to hunt within 15 yards of a property line....at least i think he said 15....may have said 50......
