Just putting a lot of rounds through a gun on a range wont give you an accurate measure of how reliable a rifle is. Get some mud or dirt on/in it and see how bad it jams up
I've had seriously bad jams with mosin nagants under normal conditions. The rim of the shell gets caught behind the interrupter and you have to dis-assemble the gun to get the shell out.

I haven't shot anything I have enough to make that determination, but if I had to pick just one based on it's likelihood to not fail, I'd grab a 12ga pump. I'm fairly new to the AK game, but it I'd be pretty confident in my Mak 90 as well.

The dirt/mud argument is usually reserved for Glocks and Ak47s and Saigas.
I don't wallow in dirt or mud with my guns, and if I were to test them that way, given enough dirt and mud would render Glocks and AK47s and Saigas useless as well.

My Colt SP-1 AR....don't keep up with round count but I haven't shot it much...had it since the late 70s. I did add a rail to the forearm and a diff grip. Only other option I've done was put a laser on the rail. No real FTF or the like...I think once I had a fail to feed, sometime back in the 90s.

Then there is my revolvers....too many to list that have not had failures. My favorite is the Mod57 .

I like the idea of taking bout 150 to 200 rnds and work your way to zero not allowing any cool down time. I believe colt did this in a test to see how hot a gas tube could get before malfunctioning, but I believe the round count was much higher before the tube burst.

I'll take my G19, Rem 700 in 308 and my Rem 870. none of these have ever failed me and I can work on all three.

Once I hit 1k rounds I'll feel more confident in it but for now it's my SCAR 17 for rifle and the HK45 for pistol. I'm thinking of getting an optic for the SCAR but I do like the kiss principle too.
