Who all uses an AR15 for hunting deer?

i shot 2 last season with my 300 blk SBR. both died within sight and I was impressed with the wound channel/exit wounds. I'll be using it again this year. 100 grain Barnes tac-tx.

I used a AR15 in 7.62x39 for years (avatar fell to it). I have since upgraded to the AR15 big brother LR308 and taken one buck with it so far. AR's are only as good as the shooter is in placing shots. A bad shot with an AR is the same as a bad shot from a 30-06 or 30-30. I've never used a 223 to hunt deer with; but shot placement is normally what kills things. Bigger bullets only give you a little more room for error. Best advise is to practice and know your limits when taking a shot. The goal is always a humane harvest of the game being hunted.

I would never personally deer hunt with 5.56. I will take out my 7.62x39 AR. If you can do it humanely and morally, then do what you do.

I've probably killed 15 with 5.56. This one met it's demise at about 75 yards with a shot to the noggin.
