Eat the contract, pay the money, but get this guy off the team!!! Seriously, he has had more run ins with police than runs scored. Freaking guy is making millions and batting .089

He can’t play defense at all so he has to be a DH and he can’t even hit. Our DH is batting .089 can you imagine???!

I read the Braves shopped him around but there were no takers. Offered him up for Patrick Corbin (Nationals) at one point.

$65,000,000

Current Contract
Marcell Ozuna signed a 4 year / $65,000,000 contract with the Atlanta Braves, including $65,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $16,250,000. In 2023, Ozuna will earn a base salary of $16,000,000, while carrying a total salary of $16,000,000.

I can not believe a team owner signs up a multimillion dollar deal on a hope and a prayer. If you want to pay a player $16M a year, the contract should read, Player gets $5,000 for every at bat, $7,500 if he gets a base hit, $10,000 if it scores one run, $15,000 if scores two runs, $20,000 for three RBI and $50,000 for a Grand Slam. Player gets $5,000 for every pop up caught, $2,500 for fielding a ball, throwing to baseman resulting in runner being out. Player gets $5,000 for every stolen base he makes, $20,000 if it score a run.

Make the compensation performance based.

Reminds me of what Ted Turner wanted to do decades ago; Base salary all around with incentives added for performance throughout the season. That never panned out for Ted (lol).
