My primary deer rifle has been .308 for as long as I have been hunting. I want to switch to .270 and I am looking for advise on what brands I should consider. I am looking to spend around $500. Any advise?

One of my favorite rifles is a Rem 700 Sendero in .270 WIN. I'd look for a gently used Rem 700 medium contour barrel in .270 WIN if you aren't in a hurry.

And FWIW... I have "a number" of bolt actions hunting rifles from different manufacturers. That would still be my choice. Disclaimer: my .270 is a Vanguard (80s vintage so Howa action). One of the most accurate rifles I own :) ... also not very comfortable to shoot. :mmph:

Have a 270 Winchester Model 70 since 1985 dont know how accurate it is but have harvested 80 deer with it,using 130 grain Core LOkts.
