If you stop and add up everytime we pay tax and for everything we get taxed on it would have to be at least 40% of our income.

For top earners it's way, way higher than that.

County shouldn’t be able to tax on increased market value until you sell…until then, it’s an unrealized capital gain…it’s not like you have that cash in the bank. When my value went down $100k below what I paid back during the 09 crash they refused to lower my bill to match the new lower value.

Clarke county here, the statement tells me that the value of my house increased about $20,000. The strange thing is that the amount of property tax went down by $150. Maybe they are trying to make up for the royal screwing I got last year.

Ours stayed the same but we took a hit last year.
No school taxes here in Cobb after age 62...only one homeowner needs to age qualify.

I live in Upson, last year I paid $406 the new bill for this year is $1407. You never really own **** in this country, all we do is rent from the county.

I am sure it is. I have now idea the number I was guessing. I think I read for high earners the income tax alone is like 28%. I don't blame them for looking for every loophole they can find.
