Background check question

There were 2.2M background checks in Feb according to this article.

if you buy a firearm and you have a GA Carry license, do they do a background check, or does that count as a background check? My question is: Is that 2.2M number low? Does it include firearms purchased by permit holders?

I'm going to guess firearms bought with a GWL do not count in those numbers.

No NICS check for permit holders so these sales are not included...

i think they may still run it through NCIS, NOT SURE FOR PERMIT HOLDERS

it depends, what do they mean by background check? if you are oput through the NCIS and nothing comes back, they could choose you for additional screening which could take up to three bsuiness days if i recall correctly. during that time period more screening is done, whatever the hell they mean by screening, you know how bureaucrats work (or not work, lol)

No those numbers do not reflect weapons purchased with a GWL or other states that allow it to be used as such in place of a NCIS check.

In December 2012 the highest ever NCIS checks (1.something million) ever until Jan 2013 and that broke into 2 million. Now Feb 2013 over 2 million. So about 6 million reportable gun transfers (not all) in 3 months!

But Bloomberg's MAIG says we all want more gun control per their paid for "polls".

Everyone does notice the large portion of media has ignored this actual number.
