Best way for women to ccw

Get her to try a belly band for her Shield. Can wear it all kinds of ways. Will probably help conceal under the type of clothes she wears. Galco and Desantis make some of the best. Good luck.

My wife was in the same situation, she carries a XD sub compact which is a little chunky. The clothes she wears didn't allow for IWB carry, and she didn't want to carry OWB.

I got her several different holsters, including a belly band, and none seemed to work for her. I got one of these for her and she really likes it, conceals very well under a loose shirt. She has the Air Marshall.

Thank you for posting that, very helpful, never thought of carrying right there.

I have worked w/ many ladies from all kinds of different age groups, body types, etc. to find a good carry system for them.

Some of the abovementioned options (bellyband, "flashbang" bra holster, & Kangaroo holster) have worked for some of our students.

The Remora holster and the minimalist style holsters like the "Thunderwear", "Smartcarry", and the neoprene designs made in a similar manner are other good options.

Selecting the right gun and a willingness to dress around the gun will go a long way toward finding the right option for each person male or female.

Trial & error is usually required too.

Many ladies fall back on purse carry partially due to an unwillingness to modify their dress or because of a lack of good concealment holsters to be found locally.

While it does have severe disadvantages & requires a much more vigilant level of awareness, it is often better than leaving it at home.

Still nothing beats having it on your person. Rule #1 of a gunfight is to have one... preferably on you.

I use the Kangaroo Carry Air Marshal with great success when I have to be dressed up. I use it with a G19 under polo and button down shirts.
