best way to carry extra ammo while hunting

I have the mag in my rifle loaded with 3 and carry an extra 5 in my pack. I have only had to go into the pack for extras once after killing 2 deer and a bobcat. Even then I only used 1 more round at a running coyote.

Ah, self defense..... ok, "the man" might cut him a break then. (I carry a .22mag sidearm for just such an occasion. )

I hunt with a M1A so I have plenty of rounds in the firearm.

i might be able to find a leather change holder with a zipper on it for you if you want? i have a drawer full someplace.

i am one of those rare people who pay in exact change most of the time

If ya can dig one or 2 up let me know, my kids is about 3 hunts away from falling apart, he's been using it since he started hunting 6yrs ago. Appreciate it!

This is for deer hunting. I do not carry extras.

Illegal to shoot a bobcat with a centerfire. Ain't judging, just letting ya know. I know this isn't the first time its happened.

Furbearers can not be taken with centerfire rifles. Unfortunately I'd be willing to bet more bobcats are taken illegally than legally. The only thing you can shoot with your centerfire deer rifle while deer hunting is deer, coyotes, and hogs (in some specific situations you can ONLY shoot deer).
