Can someone please explain the locked thread when someone posts a firearm for sale?

At first I thought the poster only wanted to be contacted by phone but I also see it locked with

no number.

Locked is the default status, I think, some people don't unlock for whatever reason. As above stated, all offers should be made through pm whether locked or not.

You are mistaken. It is NOT default.
You must choose to lock or not to lock on every ad.
You cannot make an ad without 1st making a choice here.
