carrying in car without permit

My comment wasn't about carrying per se, it was about the oft claimed and incorrect statement, "you car is an extension of your home."

Not really.

Nowhere in Georgia jurisprudence is "extension of your home" used. The phrase as it regards Georgia, is entirely a figment of the internet.

Check the rules for possessing a long gun in your home vs. carrying one in an automobile.

4th Amendment treats them the same. That is why Officer Friendly always asks before he searches your car, same for your house, barn, etc.

I take you haven't read the last 90 years of SCOTUS decisions on the subject.

In fact, it's called "the motor vehicle exception" because, -- well,-- they are different.
