Porting a .38? Why?
Simply put, for practice

I am about to open up a gunsmithing shop after an almost 5 year hiatus. This was bought for the sole purpose of practicing various modifications I will need to refresh myself on.

The velocity lost from porting, as well as the whiteout effect when shooting at night, are both negligible in a .38spl.

Bobbing the hammer
Putting on a flat latch
Rounding off the trigger
New grips
Installing tritium night sights
Porting the barrel
And ceracoating it.
Man, I got the same gun in a square butt, in less than collector quality. Its tight. Its timed perfect, with no push off.Its just been carried a lot. Wanna trade? I just hate to see a round butt get molested like that. Unless of course Im the molester. And thats a whole another story for brackish waters
