Cleaning old-ish poorly stored Ammo

Here is a side-by-side pic of a new Hornady round and a tumbled brass in Walnut shells and flitz. As you can see it does a pretty good job.

I'm even thinking of a course grade sand are a real small grade of rock or pebble or something that nature. I know that brass oxidation is a pretty tough cookie to crack. So I would try to go with the corsest most aggressive media I could find within a reasonable budget.

Thought I would show you this it's an excellent example when you put too much polish in the media. The shells on the left are just come out of the media and their little dull from all the Polish on them. The shells on the right or after I wipe them down with the terry cloth you can notice the doll from the Polish on the left and the sheen from the palace from the rub down on the right. I added another picture as well or one is standing up it's unwiped and the ones on the right are wipe down it's clear you can see the sheen on the ones that have been wiped down. I've got a little overzealous with the polishing compound so let that be a warning just use it sparingly.

Is the ammo not shootable?
Probably so, just nasty. Set in a hoarder house for years. I had to throw out the gloves I was wearing when I cleaned that place, after a run in the washer they still smelled like that place, it was nauseating. Ammo has that same smell, or at least I imagine that it does.
