Drilled a little into barrel, scrap or okay to use?

If you’re out of JB Weld…

Gotta love this place. An actual gunsmith says it's a bad idea without having it looked at and measured by an actual gunsmith, why would people still suggest that it's probably fine? Take it in and let the man check it out. Worse case, he offered a discount on a new barrel. You have nothing to lose that way. Crazy things can happen with a gun.
It doesn't look that deep. On a government profile barrel there are thinner barrel diameters than that little boo boo. Jez!

JB Weld certainly won't help. If he is concerned with aesthetics like some anal people are it would solve the sight issue. On most barrels the gas block seat is the thickest part of the barrel aside from the chamber. Come guys use you heads for something besides brill cream. GD!

How will anyone see the JB Weld? Isn’t the dimple covered by the gas block and the set screw?

Bet your hair looks great.

Exactly!!! Look real close at the depth. It's no more than a nickel. It might throw off harmonics a bit. He will notice that after the first 5 or ten rounds and replace it anyway. but with a set screw in their reinforced with a gas block. You also have to pick and choose who you see. Most if not all are programed to sell you a new barrel before you even walk in.
