Prefer oil... tried grease several years ago, had problems with heat, and dirt gumming up the action. perhaps they finally got it right and I should attempt to go back??

Seafoam Deep Creep on the trigger areas. Hoppe's high viscosity oil on my AR's.

Super Lube synthetic grease on my 1911 slides/barrels/bushing.

My Swiss K-31 calls for it's own special grease.

If I was in a super dusty Environment I probably wouldn't use grease but here fine dust is rare.

afteri shoot my firearms i always clean them so the grease would be more of an annoyance to me. i use gun oil and if the gun gets too dry i just put more oil

maybe if you only clean your guns less frequently then grease might work
