Well I wonder what they would consider a threat and how vigilant y'all should be. The claims of the forum owner were that none of these constituted a threat, but were only mean statements. That said the court ruled that all the content related to her should have been removed.

So lets say one day someone post about a Gun shop owner who's a real dick. And it goes on for a while getting pretty mean. Where do we draw the line? This decision doesn't really tell us. It just tells us that in the case it does cross the line based on their judgement that ALL related material has to be removed.

Without knowing the actual posts, which we don't, who knows? This could quickly turn into a "what if" game, but why go there?

Exactly it is a What if, and that should be scary for you, IMO.

Why go there? as above, Steve and possibly the other mods don't know where the line is for their liability.

Ok, I appreciate your opinion and concern. But I, for one, don't have time to go through a lot of "what if" scenarios; maybe someone else does.

Exactly it is a What if, and that should be scary for you, IMO.

We don't have a "Linda Ellis" on our forums. She is notoriously litigious and narcissistic. This was only made an issue because she made it one and when you have someone with such a thoroughly incendiary background, they are bound to stir the pot pretty hard.

Seeing the line is like noticing when something goes from tasteful artwork to pornography...I can't quite articulate it but I know it when I see it.
