How to protect your home from rioting and looters......

Brick house, metal studs and roof , Fire rock on the walls and tile floor, a few fire extinguishers and no issue about burning it down.

Get a tank.

you are way richer than me, i can't afford to feed and water my neighbors :)
Here's a link to feed a family of 4 for a year, for $300.

Here's a link for a Sawyer 5 gallon bucket filter, 1 or 2 should do for a large group. (1 gallon per day, per person)

Better yet, 8-16 drops of bleach can purify a gallon of water in 4 hours, depending on water quality. Even pessimistically, 1 gallon of bleach can supply a family of 4, for 2 years. Last I checked, a gallon of bleach was about $4.00.

The best alcohol for getting drunk AND cleansing wounds is probably Everclear, or another high-proof alcohol. Though, vodka, at 80 proof, is still an effective antiseptic, and will get you toasted. Cheap vodka costs between $10-$15 per liter.
Let's do the math:
Food for 12 people for 1 year: $900
Water Purification for 12 people for
1 year (Bleach) $8
Backup Water Purification for 12
People for 1 year (Sawyer×2). $260
Cheap Vodka for antiseptic or barter
1 liter bottles and a 10 gallon supply $400
You're STILL under $1600 to feed, water, and disinfect 12 people for an entire year, assuming you have a water supply. Don't prep hard, prep smart. That's 3 households of 4 people for less than 2 grand, and some serious allegiance from your neighbors who didn't prep.

Things worth prepping in addition: brown sugar and coconut oil (nearly indefinite shelf life, if stored in a controlled climate, and in the dark). Milk powder, freeze dried foods, bandaids, toilet paper, 5 gallon buckets, toilet seats for 5 gallon buckets, shovels, and bales of barbed wire.

Awesome info, only one thing: liquid bleach loses its potency over about 6 months, the powdered variety used in pool cleaners lasts much longer.
