I have made fire!

If you have any empty plastic tobacco cans like the ones that Skoal comes in, stuff them full of lint from the dryer. Dryer lint makes a good fire starter and those little cans will hold a bunch of it, too. While you are at it, fill up a few more with other essentials such as waterproof matches, fishing line and hooks, band-aids, etc. Then label them and toss them in your bug-out kit.

Dryer lint burns like oily rags. GREAT firestarter. Cotton balls with Vaseline too. I have started fires with bow and drill, Magnifying glass, 2 "D" cell batteries with 3 bread ties on opposite ends (this will burn your fingers too if you hold the wires), and the Magnesium fire starting block. The Mag block is best by far! I would prefer to just carry my Zippo though. Plenty of "flints" under the felt and keep it full and you are good.
