Second plate, this time from EGW, and it doesn't seem to work for mounting my Venom Vortex into my FNX-45.

What am I missing?

Thanks for all the info. I did not buy the mount directly from EGW. Mine is an FNX Tactical. FN customer service told me to get an optic plate because they have heard of some red dots slipping a bit if mounted directly to the slide and no pins to hold it in place other than the screws.

That's another thing, if I go that route of mounting directly, my screws don't work. Where would I get screws that fit?

Apparently the screws that come with the gun will work. If you don't have those, they seem to be a unicorn unfortunately. I did find this on another forum.

"The screws FN provides are #5-40-3/8" flat head torx . You'll need to order #5-40-1/2" flat head screws torx, Item #94414A124 from McMaster-Carr. They come in a pack of 50 but aren't that expensive. It cost me $16.50 which included tax& shipping. Oh well, at least it's mounted correctly. Torque the screws down to 15 in.lbs. and you'll be all set."

The link for the screw is here:

Don’t fit “why”?

Too long?

Too short?

Wrong threads?

Wrong head?
