I've had 2 HSE P 38s. Amazing when they are running good, money pits when they are not. $900 windshield - ouch.
I worked at the port in Brunswick briefly last year in a parts room. I had to take the lug nuts cargo mats floor mats etc down the hill where they were processing the new Rovers and Jags right off the ship. All the accessories that cost so much are made in China.
I am on my 4th Land Rover and love them.
Salvage yards are full of old Discos. So if it's just parts you need then use Car-Part.com and localize it by your zip code. Every real junk yard in the country is on there. If you need a donor body for your drivetrain it will be a little harder to find. Our 95 is a running driving (finally) vehicle.
In 4 years? Sounds about right.
Prices have come down in the last 15 years.
Had a '95 and a '04 - both Disco's. Absolutely loved them - certainly a love/hate relationship. Let us know what year you're looking for and I'll keep my eyes open.
