I had the original modified so that I could use a standard scope as the normal bolt handle would go directly up into the scope mount.

Speaking of which, I need to find a decent scope to put on this that has a small enough bell to fit on some ultra low pro mounts.

I'm up to about $300 total in this one, but the scope mount was a gift, so really $200 .
