I lived a couple of miles from Cabrini-Green when it wad torn down and new, "mixed income" housing was built. Folks that paid $500,000 for their homes in the new development could live right next door to multi-generational welfare recipients. It was and is a smashing success with a "handfull of original residents still living here." LOL.
