Some of the Atlanta hate cracks me up. The taxes and home prices are out of control ITP, and the traffic is terrible at times, but some seem to think everything inside the perimeter is Mogadishu. Lol. As has been stated before in this thread, there are some fantastic neighborhoods inside the perimeter. I don’t live in those neighborhoods, because I can’t afford to. I would seriously think about Brookhaven or Vinnings if I could afford it.

I bought a house (60's split level) in Brookhaven close to the bottom of the market and it has almost doubled in price in 6 years. The new townhomes they are building all around here are close to half a mill. Even the ones right off Buford highway. It is not affordable around here anymore.

How do feel about this photo?

I worked with a lady a few years ago - a supposed Christian - who told me once that this verse was God's prohibition of interracial marriage:

2 Corinthians 6:14

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

I used to live in Brookhaven.....not too bad...moved to Gainesville on the lake...much better...instead of hearing police sirens and loud music, about all we hear are boat motors.

I grew up near that area and would go out on the lake every weekend as a kid. As an adult, I stopped going when it became so crowded (the southern portion) and so polluted from the houseboats I got a staph infection from swimming in it.

I prefer less crowded mountain lakes now.

Atlanta is nicer now than it was 25+ years ago, I think, because it's so congested. People got so fed up with the traffic that people and their money started moving back into the city.

It's my choice to live out in the country. I prefer it. I swear there are so many people who seem to think the only reason anyone lives out in the sticks is because they're too dumb or poor to figure out how to move to the city/suburb. I've lived in a lot of different places, spent years in other countries. Living in peace and quiet and being able to shoot in my back yard makes me happy. Just personal preference.

You are correct about the southern portion...too crowded...northern not bad...hopefully it will stay that way.
