I bought a 1911 at county line pawn a couple weeks back. I got what I thought was a fair price and the guys that helped me were nice. But aside from Cherokee gun and pawn they are the only other positive pawn experience I've had.
Too bad you did not whip out a live round and ask if you cannot dry fire how about live fire? Bet there was no sign saying no LIVE fire!

There is a "normal" one a little down the road from Cherokee that I popped into a couple of times over the past year just to take a quick look. On each occasion, I asked to look at a couple of different (semi-auto) pistols. On both occasions, two different ladies simply reached into the glass showcase and handed me the guns without dropping the magazines or racking the slides for safe measure. To be honest, they both handed me the guns the same way you might hand someone a grenade that you just pulled the pin on. I was amused.
I must have caught CGP on a bad day because I had a very bad first experience with them.
What will happen to you if you dry fire it? Hmmmmmm... They gonna spank you?
