Not Fords first time dealing with faulty lugs. Anyone remember the late 80’s-early 90’s when they had lugs backing off? They cured that with massive 1-1/16 hex lugs on the F series trucks. They over reacted with those but at least in the right direction.

If you let any shop work on your vehicle these days and for a while now, they way over torque them. I had a shop one time mess the wheel lugs, stretch the studs and mess up the wheels @400lbs of torque. I made them replace everything. That was on a Camry. I try my best not to let anyone else take wheels off or on my vehicles anymore. It's a liability thing for the shop, but if your out in the middle of nowhere you can't even change a tire. I had one one time rust on and I had to cut the stud to get the wheel off. Fortunately I was home that time. And yes I do tighten lugs down to specs, not 400lbs.
