Question for PC gurus

Desktop boots and briefly flashes "keyboard error" then boots to windows customized desktop/screen saver. Can't get to log on screen because keyboard won't light up. Mouse lights up. Neither has any function. Both keyboard and mouse work fine on another PC.
I 'thought' I was saving some much needed files on an external drive. Apparently I was wrong.

You might have to take it to someone. I cant think of any way to restore it without the use of keyboard.

Have another keyboard? Old basic corded one?

Tried working all the keys vigorously to see if any are sticking?

Have any other peripherals that could substitute, like a Wacom tablet, etc?

Use a different USB slot in your tower, sounds like that might be the issue.

Unplug keyboard, shut down, start up, shut down, plug in keyboard, start up?
