Rifle Scope Mounting - How close is too close?

Yeah, you should be fine as long as everything is mounted securely.

The scope is mounted in Browning X-Lock integral base/rings (made by Talley, stamped so on each ring). It feels rock solid...it should...there are 8 screws into the receiver and 8 screws clamping the rings down...all set in a serviceable threadlocker. Surely nothing will move...at least I hope not...

I'll post some poor quality pictures of the rifle shortly (hey, cameras are about the only thing I can't shoot.)
