Is the old S&W Model 422 with a 4.5" barrel a good choice for a suppressor host ?

I have three that are hosts.

I prefer the 4" ish barrel or they get long!

Team them up with Dobb's aluminum can, and the package is very light weight and quiet.

Those stingers are not going to be that quiet though......

Erik has what you need. The barrel wrench is almost a must have, really seats the adaptor.

Pick up a firing pin as well, the originals are brittle after a bunch of rounds.

I just placed my order with Erik.
The Stingers are what came with it...
what ammunition is recommended for shooting suppressed & un-suppressed?

Standard velocity is preferred, 1050 fps or less.

Most of the 1200 fps (HV) still stays quietish in the 4.5" barrels, got cracky on my 6" barrel model.

Edit- The pistol will handle the HV stuff fine, but I would not shoot the stingers or anything hotter than 1270 fps out of that barrel.
