Glad it’s not deer season yet or this safety bite would be pretty hard to keep clean lol, if you look closely you’ll see my skin still stuck in the safety.View attachment 3399607
That's a really good example of why some folks lay their thumb on the side of the stock, especially with scattergats that have a tang mounted safety.

Hindsight 20/20 I probably should’ve gotten a 20 gauge for my first shortty shotgun but go big or go home right? I definitely learned where to keep my thumb like said and I’ll be getting a pachmayer slip on for the grip on my next trip to Barrow’s. That wood birdshead is slicker than a used car salesman lol

I've yet to try out one of the birdshead grips. I'd like to experiment with one.

As far as looks go the 590 nightstick has that department covered but for functionality I’d definitely go with a mossberg persuader. I haven’t shot one personally but the grip feels far more natural to me. I have kind of small hands so it’s honestly a bit hard to even get a shooting grip on the birdshead. I think that slip on grip sleeve and keeping my thumb to the side should fix all of my problems though.
