Solvent trap for suppressor

I heard that if you try to register a form 1 suppressor, they're gonna ask you where you got the parts to build it.

If it came from a do-it-yourself silencer kit (solvent trap set) commercially manufactured & sent to your house, they will deny your Form 1 because ATF will say you already had a silencer even before you assembled it, and therefore it's always been illegal, and you can't make it legal now!

According to him if the “solvent trap” is setup to effectively catch all the solvent it has a side effect of lowering the decibels a lot.

No longer true.
The ATF, as of earlier this year, began denying form 1 solvent trap based submissions. From what I understand, If you submit a form one now, they require you lathe your own suppressor parts and virtually create it from scratch. They ask for pictures of your setup and all.
