Has anyone made any great improvements, or even small but noticeable improvements in suppressing a 10/22 aside from screwing on a suppressor or integral barrel?

Doing a little research, I see that bolt buffers are pretty cheap and popular upgrades that quiet down the action. I've also seen Kidd guide rod and springs which are supposed to smooth the action out a bit, but I wonder if putting a slightly heavier recoil spring would slow down the bolt from opening and further decrease noise coming from the ejection port.

Change out the bolt buffer to one of the rubber coated steel pin ones. This will remove the ping the bolt makes hitting the pin. Only other thing to do use subsonic ammo. This should put you in mid to upper teens on sound.

Doesn't someone make a system to hold the bolt closed on the 10/22? I think I read that somewhere but can't remember where I saw it.

Outdoorlimited is turning it on these days...
