Hot tubs are great in the winter but I drain mine in the summer.

I turn the heater off.
I have dug my share of in ground pools and I have demoed almost as many as I have dug. Never put your money into something you can't liquidate. If you just got to have one go with above ground, it will fit in a roll off container.

Used it for many years but upkeep but worth it as you get older. This one served us for 42 yrs.
