When storing water it is better to use glass jars like the ones used in canning. Over time chemicals in the plastic bottles will leach into the water changing its taste and who knows what else.

What if a dirty bomb that is detonated at the Atlanta airport and a radioactive cloud floats over Clayton County and contaminates the lake and your pool?

get yourself a berkey filter system and you'll have at least 7000 gallons from where ever you find liquid water (like your roof, a pond, drainage ditch,sewerage treatment plant,etc)

if you use bpa free plastic containers, water barrels,etc you don't have this issue.....and canning jars are VERY expensive

i wnated to jump in on this.. im new to the site and found this thread.. neighbors houses would be great .. but in my case im in a rural area and everyone on our "dead end" street has guns and most likely would want to try and hunker down.. what would you do in a case like that
