Why do people hate Springfield?

Just a personal observation, but every time I mention my Springfield (add-s .45 stainless ported/milled/night sights) or bring it to the range, people always have something to say and I don’t find much warmer welcome on the interwebz. I personally love it, I have glocks and xd-s’ and (not trying to start a debate here) they seem to be equally rugged, reliable, and accurate. Can anyone maybe explain the stigma against polymer striker-fired Springfield’s? It would be greatly appreciated.

Because everyone has got an opinion. Nothing wrong with them, just prefer Glocks personally. Love me some Springfield 1911s tho.

I understand that. I trust me, I love me some glock too, I rotate it into my carry roster with the XD-s. It just seems to me like a huuuuge number of people have that same opinion. Maybe I’m just a sensitive little girl.

I think you're getting into some kind of basic psychology. There's nothing wrong with Springfield products I can think of, XD series included.

Thanks for the replies guys. Having some second opinions has made me feel better. Nothing has ever told me to not trust it, but in Woodstock where I live they’re al gun snobs and if it’s not a cold or a sig it might as well be a hi point. Shoot straight fellas!
