    Tried this lately?

    I used the dishwasher to clean the cosmoline out of a Mosin stock. Worked great until someone told my wife. However, put it on pot scrubber, run the cycle, steel wool the grain and rub with BLO. A lot easier but do not tell my wife. I figured the hot water washed it down the drain.
