Blown Head Gasket

I have oil coming out just above the exhaust manifold. I'm assuming that this is a blown head gasket. I've always heard that when this happens that water mixes in with the oil. There's no water in the oil though. Could it be something else?

Sounds more like a valve cover leak. It would be good to know what kind of car/engine we're talking about here though.

The oil is coming out pretty quick. Not squirting but a steady drip while running

Do a compression check. Oil will not blow a head gasket without cylinder pressure doing it.

Also, few engines have pressurized oil passing through the head gasket.

Milky oil is a sometimes symptom, not an always symptom. Sounds like head gasket to me. Not an expert, but had a couple.

I had an oil leak once...turned out to be a cracked insulator on the oil sending unit.

If engine overheated, the sensors are usually damaged before the head warps.
